TIS students are back at it this year!!! Mrs. McNabb's class are learning about types of energy and how it can transfer and transform from one object to another with dominoes!! Ms. R. Smith’s class had a great time learning about famous inventors. Each group made posters about a different inventor and presented it to their class!!

STEAM Lab got a little eggs-citing this week at TIS learning about Newton’s Laws of Motion with a hands on experiment! 🤯🥚 Our 4th and 5th graders put Sir Isaac Newton to the test with the classic Inertia Egg Drop Experiment! Using just a plastic cup, a plate, a cardboard tube, and an egg,(plastic of course) students tested Newton’s First Law of Motion: an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force. When our young scientists gave the plate a quick horizontal smack, force was applied only to the plate and cardboard tube. The egg stayed right where it was for a fraction of a second before gravity pulled it straight down into the cup landing safe, sound, and splashy! Swipe through to see our future physicists in action!

What a special moment at TIS! We are so proud of our student author, Jayce, who took the time to sign a copy of his very own book, Chef Earl, for our TIS Library! 📖🖊️❤️

Please review the car rider procedures and expectations for the safety of all Thompson Intermediate students and teachers.

No cell phone use in car rider line
Absolutely No Speeding
Do not switch lanes between the crosswalks

Afternoon car riders must know their 3-digit number; we do not call names. If your child misses their number, you will be asked to circle around, and we will call them again.
