Mrs. McNabb's class are learning about types of energy and how it can transfer and transform from one object to another with dominoes!!
Ms. R. Smith’s class had a great time learning about famous inventors. Each group made posters about a different inventor and presented it to their class!!
STEAM Lab got a little eggs-citing this week at TIS learning about Newton’s Laws of Motion with a hands on experiment! 🤯🥚
Our 4th and 5th graders put Sir Isaac Newton to the test with the classic Inertia Egg Drop Experiment!
Using just a plastic cup, a plate, a cardboard tube, and an egg,(plastic of course) students tested Newton’s First Law of Motion: an object at rest stays at rest unless acted upon by an outside force.
When our young scientists gave the plate a quick horizontal smack, force was applied only to the plate and cardboard tube. The egg stayed right where it was for a fraction of a second before gravity pulled it straight down into the cup landing safe, sound, and splashy!
