Thompson Theatre proudly presents Tuck Everlasting. In 1880, 10-year-old Winnie Foster, trapped by the rules imposed by her strait-laced family, runs away and discovers the humble Tucks who had accidentally stumbled upon a spring long ago that gave them eternal life. Winnie promises to keep their dangerous secret but then a sinister stranger in a yellow suit arrives at their door with intentions to steal the immortal water for himself. Ultimately Winnie must choose whether or not to drink the immortal water and join them in an everlasting adventure – or live on in a natural way, living a life full of the ordinary beauty of growth and change.

TOYS FOR TOTS Drive November 14-Dec 12. Host Clubs: Spanish and French Clubs (along with various clubs around the school) will be collecting unwrapped new toys for school aged children. Donations can be placed in the large cardboard boxes (wrapped like Christmas presents) outside of participating clubs' classrooms.

Thompson High School celebrated Cadet Ethan Crook today, who received the Silver Valor Award, the nation’s 2nd-highest JROTC honor, for his heroic actions on 9/13. After a football game, Crook rescued a victim from an overturned vehicle and provided critical care until paramedics arrived. We’re proud of his bravery and service! #JROTC

We are also thrilled to celebrate her court: Junior Miss, Kaelci Theuri; Sophomore Miss, Simone Jones; and Freshman Miss, Maycie Turner.
Special recognition goes to Allie Ellis as our Photogenic Winner, Kaelci Theuri for both Interview and Fun Fashion, Miss Congeniality Kelsey Galloway, and Abigail Moore as the People’s Choice.
Collectively the contestants raised $1,755 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association!

📣 Exciting visit at THS! Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from the University of Montevallo’s MADE Program. They shared their inspiring program with our diverse learners, highlighting mentorship and scholarship opportunities designed to support first-year students from underserved backgrounds.
According to Montevallo, "The purpose of the MADE program is to assist first-year, underserved student populations in successfully transitioning to life as a Montevallo student." We're thrilled to connect our students with such valuable resources as they look toward their futures! 🌟

Thompson High School had the privilege of hosting representatives from the Mercedes-Benz Mechatronics and Technical Academy today. The visit provided students with an exciting opportunity to learn about the academy’s programs, which offer a unique path to achieve degrees while gaining valuable on-the-job experience.
During the visit, the Mercedes-Benz team showcased their Mechatronics and Technical Academies, which allow students to earn degrees through Shelton State or Lawson State Community Colleges while simultaneously engaging in hands-on learning and industry training. This dual approach ensures students are well-prepared for high-demand careers in the field.
Additionally, the presentation highlighted their High School Apprenticeship Program, designed specifically for current high school students. This program provides a head start in the workforce, combining classroom learning with real-world experience at Mercedes-Benz.
The visit was an eye-opening experience for Thompson High School students, giving them a glimpse into the exciting career opportunities available in mechatronics and technical fields.

We are proud to recognize Mikey Wilder and Kelly Chavarria Ramirez for being named Employees of the Month at the Academy of Craft Training for their exceptional achievements in October. Both students have demonstrated outstanding dedication and skill in their respective programs, earning the top scores on the Academy’s Employability Scale for the month.
Mikey is currently excelling in the HVAC program, where his commitment to mastering the trade has set him apart as a top performer. Kelly is thriving in the Interior/Exterior Finishes program, showcasing her craftsmanship and passion for the field.
The Employability Scale is used to evaluate students on a range of criteria, including work ethic, skill development, and professionalism, and Mikey and Kelly’s scores are a testament to their hard work and dedication.
