Both students have demonstrated outstanding dedication and skill in their respective programs, earning the top scores on the Academy’s Employability Scale for the month.
Mikey is currently excelling in the HVAC program, where his commitment to mastering the trade has set him apart as a top performer. Kelly is thriving in the Interior/Exterior Finishes program, showcasing her craftsmanship and passion for the field.
The Employability Scale is used to evaluate students on a range of criteria, including work ethic, skill development, and professionalism, and Mikey and Kelly’s scores are a testament to their hard work and dedication.

Recently, THS DECA attended the Birmingham Toast To Life Gala, a significant event supporting Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). During the gala, the team proudly presented a check for $3,000, representing the funds they have raised so far for MDA. Their commitment to this cause not only highlights their dedication to community service but also brings hope and support to those affected by muscular dystrophy. DECA is excited to continue to raise funds for this great cause throughout the year.

Thompson High School is honored to announce its annual Veterans Day Program, set to take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 8:45 AM in the Thompson Warrior Arena. The school invites all veterans in the community to join in this special event dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the service and sacrifices of our nation's military heroes.

275 freshmen at Thompson High School attended the Worlds of Work Career Expo on Thursday, October 17th put on by Central Six AlabamaWorks! for schools in the Birmingham region. Our students were able to participate in interactive exhibits to learn about and gain exposure to real world career opportunities to assist with their future career planning. The event was divided into five different "worlds" featuring STEM, Healthcare & Professional Services, Construction & Utilities, Transportation, Logistics & Automotive, and Manufacturing.

Alabaster Strong Fire Internship - Make an impact on your community by gaining skills to become a well-rounded future firefighter through education and hands on experience!
This program is open to all 11th/12th grade students in the Alabaster community who are dedicate to growing into a profession of the fire service. (Must be 17 years old to participate)

TriGreen sell and service large agriculture equipment that is the staple to the legendary brand along with equipment used around the house and small properties, like lawn tractors, zero turns, gator utility vehicle, and compact tractors.
They also offer a construction segment that is their fastest growing portion of the business with skid steers, excavators, and wheel loaders. Each day is a little different and they have plenty of career advancement opportunities for our employees with over 600 employees and 28 locations.
TriGreen offers SCHOLARSHIPS for those wanting to pursue this career path for the 2025-2026 School Year. TEN scholarships are available for students in our area.
Full scholarship: TriGreen covers all the in-state education costs including room, meal plan books and tuition. And there is a tool program where we have a toolbox stocked with tools dedicated to each scholarship winner. Once the student graduates from one of the two schools and they complete 3 years of consecutive work for TriGreen the toolbox and tools become theirs.

🌎🎉 ¡Qué celebración! This morning, the Spanish Club, with over 200 members strong, gathered in the Warrior Café to mark the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. 🥳 Student leaders shared a variety of cultural dishes and candies from Spanish-speaking countries around the world, personally serving everyone who came to join the festivities. Club President, Dylan R G, greeted guests, expressed gratitude for the support, and shared his hopes for continued unity, cultural awareness, and growth here at THS. Thank you to all who made this celebration unforgettable!

🚁✨ Exciting day for Thompson High School's Dual Enrollment Emergency Services class! Today, they received a special visit from the Regional Air-Medical Services medevac team. 🏥🚨 Students had the opportunity to get up close with the helicopter and learn firsthand about emergency medical air transport. Huge thanks to the crew for sharing their expertise and giving our future first responders a glimpse into this life-saving career! 🙌

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. Wayman welcomed two guest speakers, social workers Micaela Oer and Ciomara Angel, to her AP Spanish classes today where they discussed their journey with cultural identity, using the Spanish language, and the importance of thinking of the next steps after high school.
