
Alabaster City Schools has been named the "Best Community of Music Education" for 2024 by the NAMM Foundation.


THS Choir earned All Superiors at State Choir Assessment in Tuscaloosa, AL and a perfect score in sight-singing! The Thompson High School Choir performed at the State Choral Performance Assessment on Thursday, April 4th in Tuscaloosa, AL.


Two Thompson High School students were honored as winners of the University of Alabama Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. essay and art contest. Janiah Martin won for art, and Olivia Harmon won for essay. For their hard work, each student was presented with a new Dell Chromebook and a check for the school for up to $500.00. The reception honoring the winners was held at Shelton State Community College on March 27, 2024. Realizing the Dream Committee conducts an annual essay and art contest for students in grades 6-12 around a theme that changes each year. The 2023 theme was Realizing the Dream Through Commitment and Sacrifice. Congratulations Janiah and Olivia!

It was a pleasure to have former NASA payload specialist astronaut Larry DeLucas on campus today to speak to our engineering and computer science students. DeLucas flew on the Columbia space shuttle in 1992 (STS-50, 14-day mission)


Graduation Keynote Speaker: Chris Stewart will deliver the keynote address at Thompson High School’s Commencement Ceremony. The event will be held at 6pm on Tuesday, May 21 at UAB Bartow Arena in downtown Birmingham.

For the first time since 2013, the Thompson boys basketball team has advanced to the Elite 8 in Class 7A. Thompson will face Hoover in the NW Region Championship on Tuesday, February 20th. Location: Wallace State Community College Time: 2:15pm

NEW Thompson High School SRO trucks have arrived! The Alabaster Police
Department and THS art students worked together to design a unique THS paint job for the new SRO trucks! Be on the lookout for these new trucks!


All State Band Results: Thompson High School Band had six students place in both All State and All District IV Band out of over 800 students.


TriGreen Equipment met with several of our seniors to discuss their scholarship opportunities. They award 10 $22,000 scholarships to graduates interested in a career as a diesel technician.
