We would like to give a huge congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Cushing and our Support Person of the Year, secretary, Ms. Gossett!
Ms. Cushing has only been at MVES for a few years but has already made such an impact on many students. She is an amazing teacher and makes sure every student feels included, special and important. Her classroom is full of learning and fun activities! She is loved by all of her colleagues as well and we couldn’t be more proud of her!
Ms. Gossett has been with MVES since the doors of the school were opened! She is vital to the day to day operation of our school and she keeps the school running like a well oiled machine! She knows all of the things and we are so thankful she is part of our team!
Congratulations to both of these special women, we love you both! We hope you both know how important you are to MVES!

Mrs. Harris' kindergarten class:
We spent the week learning about spiders! We learned how they build their web and how insects get stuck to the spider web. Mrs. Harris was the poor bug that got stuck in the middle of the web! Then, we learned that spiders have a special oil that helps them not stick to their own web. We replicated that by using our fingers to walk across tape, first getting stuck as the insect, then dipping our fingers in oil and walking across easily as the spider. We ended our week by making spiders with Oreos and pretzel sticks and took turns pulling the pulp and seeds out of our class pumpkin! What a fun way to say goodbye to October!

Halloween fun in Mrs. Nabors’ 1st grade class! 🎃

Happy Halloween from Mrs Holmes’ kindergarten class! We carved and investigated a pumpkin, made spider snacks and monster juice, and got some sweet treats to take home!
