Reading in Motion! 📚🚲

We are so excited to announce that our wonderful Interventionist, Heather Reeves, has been awarded a grant from Alabama Power to bring under-desk bicycles to our library!

Heather recognized that sitting still for long periods can be a challenge for young readers. Thanks to the Alabama Power "Power of Good" grant, our students will now be able to pedal their way through their favorite books. These bikes provide a productive outlet for energy, helping students improve focus, comprehension, and cognitive function while they read.

We are committed to supporting the "whole child"—academically, physically, and emotionally. Huge thanks to Alabama Power for helping us turn silent reading into an active, motivating experience!

Ms. Sumrall’s first graders turned into mini-mathematicians for an Egg Coin Hunt! The students searched high and low to find hidden eggs, but the fun didn't stop there. Once they cracked them open, the real work began! Students had to: identify the coins found inside, calculate the total value of their "treasure" and record their findings to practice their data and money skills. It was a "egg-stra" special way to make math hands-on and exciting!

Ms. Sumrall's 1st grade class completed a peep science experiment! They tested to see if they float, talked about the characteristics, and tested to see which liquid it takes to dissolve it!

Happy Assistant Principals Week! 💙✨ We are so grateful for Mrs. Wilson and Ms. Herron, who truly help handle all the things—big and small! From supporting our students and staff to keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes, they do it all with care, patience, and a smile. Our Meadow View kindergarteners stepped back in time for an unforgettable adventure at American Village! 🇺🇸 These young colonists bravely took action on the “Road to Revolution” as they rowed across the Charles River, helped warn others alongside Paul Revere, tossed “tea” at the Boston Tea Party, and even became secret spies delivering important messages! Learning history has never been so exciting—way to go, little patriots! ❤️🤍💙

🏛️ Meadow View Art Takes Over the Capitol! 🏛️ We are incredibly proud of Jaxon and Aceson, who represented Meadow View Elementary at the "All Across Alabama" Student Art Reception in Montgomery! 🎨✨ Our students were honored to meet with State Representative Kenneth Paschal, who took the time to celebrate their creativity and hard work. A huge thank you to our amazing art teacher, Mrs. McMurray, for her dedication to our students and for guiding them to this state-level stage! Their artwork, exploring "What Makes Alabama Great," will be on display at the State Capitol throughout the month of April. Congratulations to our talented artists! 💙

Mrs. Fike's 1st grade class measured their feet against a basketball player's foot! 🦶

Mrs. Williams' 1st grade class loved getting to measure Teacher Assistant, Mrs. Yerby! They used Peeps to measure her! 🐣📏

Ms. Green’s 3rd grade class crushed the ELA ACAP this week, and their hard work definitely deserved a celebration! 🍪🎉 These smart cookies showed up, gave it their all, and made their teacher so proud!

These two work tirelessly to create a space where imagination grows, curiosity is encouraged, and a love for reading comes to life every single day. From helping students find the perfect book to keeping our library running smoothly, they make such a meaningful impact on our school. We are so grateful for all they do! ❤️📖

Peep Day was peeptastic in Mrs. Nabors’ kindergarten class! 🐥 Students explored all things Peeps—from tasting a variety of flavors to designing their very own creations. They even hatched a peep and put their scientist skills to work with a fun peep experiment. It was a sweet day full of creativity, discovery, and hands-on learning!
