Mrs. Jeffcoat’s second grade class is diving deep into learning new vocabulary! Our students are becoming word detectives —using dictionary skills to look up definitions, exploring the thesaurus to find synonyms and antonyms, and making meaningful connections to new words. They’re creating sentences, recognizing new vocabulary, and using those words in different contexts to show real understanding. Watching their language skills grow one word at a time is amazing!

We were so excited to welcome artist Kelly Hatfield to our school as part of the All Across Alabama program through the Alabama State Council on the Arts! 🎨
She worked with Ms. Green’s 3rd grade class on a special project where students created their own artistic answer to “What makes Alabama great?” These amazing two-dimensional pieces will be displayed at the State Capitol in Montgomery during the legislative session in April!
Such a fun and meaningful opportunity for our students to share their creativity and represent what makes our state so special 💙
