Mr. Jayden Kidd with the Champions Craft Academy spoke with our senior students today about construction opportunities for after graduation. We will have a career fair for these students on April 3rd! 🎉 Congratulations, THS TV! 🎉 Thompson High School took home several awards at the Alabama Scholastic Press Association state convention in Tuscaloosa last week. 🏆 For the first time ever, THS has won the Alex House Journalism Sustainability Award—recognizing schools that go above and beyond to preserve and support journalism. This is a huge honor, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support from our school and community! 🏅 Alabama Journalist of the Year – Oswin Colley (Now in the running for the NATIONAL award! 👏) 🎓 J.B. The following students from Dr. Holderfield’s Introduction to Pharmacy Class and the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Class were chosen as the delegates for the 2025 Blair Pharmacy Student Shadowing Program. Two juniors and 4 seniors will represent the amazing pharmacy programs at THS. We can’t wait to watch these students grow in their healthcare curriculums.

Our Education Interns spent the day at Thompson Middle School working with 8th grade students to create their 4-Year plans for high school. They worked alongside our Career Coach, Mrs. Cardwell who has been guiding these students through this planning process this week.

🏆 HISTORY MADE! THOMPSON WRESTLING DOMINATES STATE 🏆 What a moment for Thompson Wrestling! 🔥💪 🥇 Girls’ Wrestling – STATE CHAMPIONS! Thompson made history by winning the first-ever sanctioned AHSAA Girls 6A/7A State Championship. 🥇 Boys’ Wrestling – STATE CHAMPIONS! The Warriors are back on top, securing their 10th boys' state wrestling title with dominant performances across the board! Congrats to all our wrestlers and coaches for this historic achievement!

📚✨ Honoring Excellence at Thompson High School! ✨📚 This morning, 228 outstanding students were inducted into the National Honor Society at Thompson High School! 🎉👏 To earn this distinction, students must maintain a minimum 3.75 GPA and pursue an Advanced Diploma, with many excelling beyond the requirement. Most of these students have taken or are currently enrolled in AP or dual enrollment courses, pushing themselves to achieve academic excellence. Congratulations to these hard-working Warriors on their well-deserved achievement! We are so proud of your dedication, leadership, and commitment to success. 🎓🔥

Thank you to TriGreen Equipment for coming to speak to our students about their Apprenticeship Program today. As a TriGreen Apprentice, students have the opportunity to get paid while learning a trade to become a Diesel Technician. TriGreen sell and service large agriculture equipment that is the staple to the legendary brand along with equipment used around the house and small properties, like lawn tractors, zero turns, gator utility vehicle, and compact tractors. They also offer a construction segment that is their fastest growing portion of the business with skid steers, excavators, and wheel loaders. Each day is a little different and they have plenty of career advancement opportunities for our employees with over 600 employees and 28 locations. TriGreen offers SCHOLARSHIPS for those wanting to pursue this career path for the 2025-2026 School Year. TEN scholarships are available for students in our area. Thank you to the Jefferson State Community College FAME Program for coming to visit with our students today to talk about “Earn while you Learn” opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience while obtaining their education. Students will have the opportunity to learn welding, machine technology, and industrial maintenance while working for companies such as Buffalo Rock, Coca-Cola, MacLean Power Systems, Amerex, CMC, and SPOC.
