🌎🎉 ¡Qué celebración! This morning, the Spanish Club, with over 200 members strong, gathered in the Warrior Café to mark the end of Hispanic Heritage Month. 🥳 Student leaders shared a variety of cultural dishes and candies from Spanish-speaking countries around the world, personally serving everyone who came to join the festivities. Club President, Dylan R G, greeted guests, expressed gratitude for the support, and shared his hopes for continued unity, cultural awareness, and growth here at THS. Thank you to all who made this celebration unforgettable!

🚁✨ Exciting day for Thompson High School's Dual Enrollment Emergency Services class! Today, they received a special visit from the Regional Air-Medical Services medevac team. 🏥🚨 Students had the opportunity to get up close with the helicopter and learn firsthand about emergency medical air transport. Huge thanks to the crew for sharing their expertise and giving our future first responders a glimpse into this life-saving career! 🙌



Testing Day Information Reminder: On Wednesday, October 16, THS will be administering the Pre-ACT to 10th graders and ACT WorkKeys to 12th graders. 9th and 11th grade students will have an eLearning Day.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Dr. Wayman welcomed two guest speakers, social workers Micaela Oer and Ciomara Angel, to her AP Spanish classes today where they discussed their journey with cultural identity, using the Spanish language, and the importance of thinking of the next steps after high school.

Thompson Wrestling Mattress Sale:
On Saturday, October 26th, from 10am to 5pm our Thompson Wrestling Program is
hosting our 13th Annual Mattress Sale fundraising event. This event has been VERY
successful here at Thompson and in school districts across Alabama and the US over
the last 12 years and we have given back over $2,200,000 in Alabama! We are excited to
have this event here again at Thompson High School.
Top Brands are available including Simmons, BeautyRest, and Therapedic - all with full
factory warranties. The mattress sets are also deeply discounted at 30%-40% below retail
stores! Over 25 mattress sets, and adjustable beds will be on display; prices range from
$199 to $4799. Awesome pillows and adjustable beds are also available. Financing is
available. The sale is at Thompson High School in the auxiliary gym. Please tell your

🎶💃 Thompson High School Welcomes the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet! 💃🎶
Yesterday, our Performing Arts Center came alive with the vibrant rhythms and passionate energy of the Hispanic Flamenco Ballet! 🕺💃 Students and staff were treated to a stunning performance that celebrated the rich cultural traditions of Spain and Latin America through music, dance, and storytelling.
From mesmerizing flamenco footwork to colorful costumes and lively guitar sounds, it was an unforgettable experience for our school community. 🎉 Thank you to the talented performers for sharing your incredible art with us! #HispanicHeritageMonth
In light of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, Alabaster City Schools is stepping up to support those impacted by this disaster. Starting this week and running to October 21, 2024, we will collect donations to aid families and communities in need.
Your generosity can make a real difference! Our schools will be accepting donations of the following items:
Non-perishable food items
Clothing (new only)
Baby formula (pre-mixed, ready to use)
Bottled water
Hygiene products (soap, toothpaste, etc.)
Cleaning supplies
Baby diapers/wipes
Blankets, gloves, comforters, etc.
Cleaning supplies (disposable gloves, brooms, mops, etc.)
Shop vacs
Carpet shampooers
Tarps
Batteries
Trash bags
Buckets
Coolers

Drop-off locations will be set up at each ACS campus, as identified by school administration. In the coming weeks, contributions will be delivered to relief organizations working directly with those affected by the storms.
