There is new guidance on a new law implemented in schools across Alabama, including Thompson High School.
Taylor's Law links disciplinary points system with how students could get their license. Students 12 years or older will be subject to a disciplinary points for conduct infractions on the campus of their school. One point will result in one day of in school suspension, two points will result in one day of out of school suspension, six points will result in placement in alternative school, and 20 points will result in expulsion.
Under the new Taylor's Law, every point accumulated will add one additional week for when a student is able to receive their learner's permit or driver's license.
