Alabaster, AL – The Thompson High School JROTC program has been recognized for its outstanding service and dedication to honoring veterans at the Alabama National Cemetery. In a letter from the Support Committee for the Alabama National Cemetery (SCALNC), the organization extended its gratitude for the cadets’ participation in various events, including the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony.
SCALNC Chairman Eldon Woodie commended the leadership of Chief Keith Long, as well as the cadets, athletes, coaches, and teachers who have taken part in these efforts. The letter highlighted the group’s contributions to the cemetery’s mission of remembering and honoring the nation’s heroes.
Through their involvement, Thompson High School students have demonstrated a deep commitment to community service and patriotism. Their efforts, including volunteering at special events and taking part in ceremonies, have left a lasting impact on the community.
SCALNC also invited Thompson High School to continue supporting future events at the cemetery and encouraged students to visit their website for photos and a special tribute to the school’s participation.
