Today was a special day at MVES! 🇺🇸
We were honored to welcome Alabama State Representative Kenneth Paschal to campus as he presented Meadow View Elementary with our official America250 Alabama Semiquincentennial flag and a letter of commendation. This recognition celebrates our participation in the statewide initiative leading up to the 250th birthday of the United States in 2026.
Representative Paschal presented the flag to our 3rd Grade Principal’s Advisory Board, who proudly accepted it on behalf of our students, staff, and school community. We appreciate Representative Paschal for taking the time to visit MVES and for supporting public education and student leadership.
At Meadow View, we work to develop confident learners, responsible citizens, and future leaders—and today was a meaningful reminder of the importance of civic pride and community involvement. 🇺🇸

Please help us congratulate our MVES Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Kayla Harris, and Teacher Assistant of the Year, Mrs. Zulma Vargas! 🎉🍎 Kayla Harris is in her 13th year of teaching at Meadow View and continues to make a lasting impact on our school. She has a heart for her students and a gift for making every child feel seen, included, and valued. She is also a trusted mentor to new teachers and a leader on our staff. We are so grateful for her dedication and love for education. Zulma Vargas is in her 3rd year at MVES and is a tremendous blessing to our kindergarten team. She goes above and beyond for our students and staff every day. As a bilingual educator, she supports many of our ESL students and families, helping bridge communication with kindness and care. Her heart for helping others shines in everything she does. We are incredibly lucky to have both of these amazing educators at MVES! ❤️👏
