CVES Parents and Guardians,
The vision of Alabaster City Schools is to partner with families and the community to inspire and prepare graduates to be responsible and productive champions of their future.
Thank you so much for your continuous support and partnership during the first semester of school. CVES has a few upcoming dates in which we wanted to make you aware. Our last day of the semester will be Thursday, December 19, 2024. We will dismiss school at 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be served prior to dismissal. Lost and found items will be donated to a local charity on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Items will be displayed on the stage the week of December 16th.
Early Dismissal Schedule Thursday, December 19, 2024
Pre-K students will dismiss at 12:30 p.m.
Car riders will dismiss at 12:45 pm.
First-load bus riders will dismiss at 12:50 pm.
Second-load bus riders will dismiss at 12:55 pm.
Third-load bus riders will dismiss at 1:05 pm.
All car riders should be picked up by 1:15 p.m.
Creek View After School Care will be open until 6:00 p.m.
A change of transportation must be submitted in writing or via email to parent.cves@acsboe.org in advance. Any change of transportation should be submitted no later than 10:00 a.m.
We will be closed for the Christmas holidays from December 20, 2024 - January 3, 2024.
ACS Faculty has a PD/Teacher Work Day on Monday, January 6, 2024.
Students will return to school on Tuesday, January 7, 2024.

The presentation - “Champions Build a Culture of Collaboration and Coaching” - highlighted the incredible culture and instructional practices in place at CVES…attributes that helped CVES earn a National Blue Ribbon! 🏅

We are extremely proud of our Thompson High School Warrior Football Team for advancing to the 2024 Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) State 7A Football Championship!
For students, faculty, and staff to have an opportunity to safely travel to and from the game - and for the benefit of ACS employees who plan to attend - system-wide dismissal and start times for Wednesday and Thursday will be as follows:
Wednesday, December 4, 2024:
ACS campuses will operate on a one-hour (1) early dismissal.
Your student’s school will communicate the exact release times for car riders and bus riders.
After-School Care and extracurricular activities will be canceled.
Thursday, December 5, 2024:
All grades will start school on a two-hour (2) delay.
Buses will also operate on a two-hour (2) delayed schedule.
Breakfast will not be served (lunch will be served).
Schools will operate on a normal schedule once we begin. After-School Care will operate as normal.
