Alabaster, AL — Thompson Middle School has welcomed a very special visitor with four paws and a big heart. Reagan, an 8-year-old English Cream Retriever and certified ACS Facility Dog, has been making a positive impact on students across campus.

Reagan is no ordinary dog. He has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certification in addition to his AKC Urban Good Citizen and AKC Community Canine certifications, demonstrating excellent manners, obedience, and a calm temperament—qualities that make him perfectly suited for working in school settings. His gentle presence has quickly won over students and staff alike.

Most recently, Reagan was spotted in 8th grade English classes taught by Ms. Moreno and Ms. Paulson, where he served as a unique muse for student writing. His calm demeanor and friendly personality inspired creativity, helping students relax and find their voices as writers.

Reagan also made an important visit to Ms. Gant’s 8th grade science class, where he assisted students on test day. By simply being present, Reagan helped ease test anxiety and provided comfort during a stressful time, allowing students to focus and do their best.

Faculty members say Reagan’s visits have been a welcome addition to the school day, offering emotional support and encouraging a positive learning environment. Students eagerly look forward to seeing him in the halls and classrooms.

Thompson Middle School is proud to partner with the ACS Facility Dog program and grateful for the joy, comfort, and inspiration Reagan brings to the campus. With his wagging tail and calming presence, Reagan continues to prove that sometimes the best support comes with four legs.
