Alabaster, Ala. — The Thompson Middle School Dance Team delivered standout performances over the weekend of Jan. 24–25, bringing home top honors from two major competitions and cementing its place as one of Alabama’s premier middle school programs.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, the team competed at the UDA Magic City Dance Challenge, hosted at Thompson High School. The dancers captured 1st place in Kick and earned 2nd place in the Spirit Program, a collaborative performance with TMS Cheer that showcased school pride, energy, and precision.

The momentum continued on Sunday, Jan. 25, at the DTU Alabama State Championship, hosted at Spain Park High School, where the TMS Dance Team once again rose to the top. The team claimed 1st place in Kick and 1st place in Game Day, highlighting their versatility and consistency across multiple categories.

With a trophy-filled weekend behind them, the Thompson Middle School Dance Team now sets its sights on the national stage. Next month, the team will travel to Orlando, Florida, to compete at the National Dance Team Championship, where they will look to defend their title as the 2025 Middle School Kick Champions.
