SIX ADULTS IN FRONT OF WOODEN CITY COUNCIL DAIS

ACS - January is School Board Member Recognition Month, a time set aside each year to honor the dedicated individuals who serve on local boards of education and work tirelessly to support students, staff, and communities. These leaders play a vital role in setting policy, ensuring accountability, and advocating for student success across Alabama.

Throughout the month, Alabaster City Schools proudly recognizes the service and commitment of the Alabaster Board of Education: President Mr. Adam Moseley; Vice President Mr. Derek Henderson; Board Member Dr. John Myrick; Board Member Mrs. Misty Johnson; and Board Member Dr. Kristalyn Lee.

Across our schools, students and staff will express their appreciation in various ways, including special recognition videos, artwork, classroom projects, social media messages, and thoughtful tokens such as gift baskets. These gestures reflect the gratitude we feel for the countless hours and careful decision-making our board members devote to the success of ACS.

“We’re changing lives. We work every day to open doors and create opportunities for every child we serve,” Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers said. “The leadership of our Board of Education helps make that mission possible by keeping students at the center of every decision.”

The ACS Board of Education will be formally honored during the January Board of Education Meeting on January 12, 2026.
