Thompson Middle School came together to honor those who have served our country during its annual Veterans Day Assembly on November 7. The event began with a warm welcome from Principal Dr. Neely Woodley, who thanked all veterans in attendance for their service and sacrifice. The TMS Choir followed with a performance of the National Anthem, setting a respectful and patriotic tone for the morning. Veterans were then recognized by their branch of service as the TMS Band played each branch’s song.
Adding to the celebration, the TMS Dance Team performed a routine dedicated to honoring the courage of America’s veterans. The highlight of the program came from keynote speaker Mr. Greg Ragland, a U.S. National Guard veteran and social studies teacher at TMS. Ragland shared personal reflections about his time in the military and spoke about what it means to be a veteran. He encouraged students to show gratitude not just on Veterans Day, but every day, for those who have served to protect our freedoms. The assembly served as a powerful reminder of the strength, sacrifice, and unity that veterans represent.
