Red Ribbon Week

October 27–31, 2025 — Thompson Middle School, Alabaster, AL

Thompson Middle School is excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week, the nation’s largest drug prevention awareness campaign, from October 27th through 31st. This year’s theme, “Life is a Pizzle, Live it Drug Free,” encourages students to make healthy choices and stand up against substance abuse while promoting kindness, self-care, and mental wellness.

Throughout the week, students and staff will participate in fun activities, themed spirit days, and educational lessons designed to reinforce the importance of living a drug-free lifestyle. The week kicks off on Monday, October 27, with a “Wear Red Day” to show unity and commitment to making positive choices.

Here’s what’s happening each day:

  • Monday, Oct. 27 – “We’re RED-y to Live Drug Free!”
Wear red to show your support for a drug-free lifestyle.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 28 – “Give Drugs the Boot!”
Show your school spirit by wearing your favorite western wear.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 29 – “'Lei' off Drugs!”
Wear tropical attire to promote anti-drug positivity.

  • Thursday, Oct. 30 – “We are too Bright for Drugs!”
Wear your best neon to show that you are brighter than to pick drugs.

  • Friday, Oct. 31 – “Team Up Against Drugs!”
Wrap up the week by wearing a jersey or a sports shirt of your choice to show your comitment to being drug free.

Red Ribbon Week serves as a reminder that everyone plays a part in creating a safe, supportive, and healthy community. By pledging to stay drug-free, Thompson Middle School students are showing leadership, self-respect, and pride in making choices that support their goals and dreams.
