The annual 8th grade homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, October 11th. The dance will be held at 6:00-8:00pm at Thompson Middle School. Tickets are $12 and concessions will be sold. Tickets can be purcahsed here.
The guidelines for the dance will include the following:
All students should be dropped off in the TMS car rider line. All students will be dismissed from the dance in the regular car rider line. Only 8 th grade students who attend Thompson Middle School may attend the dance.
Please remember that students must be in dress code in order to attend the dance. Please refer to the dress code in the ACS Student Code of Conduct and Attendance. The items below are provided for emphasis.
• Boys – remember that you cannot wear hats
• Girls – No strapless dresses may be worn. All dresses must have straps. A shawl cannot be worn in place of straps. As stated in the Student Code of Conduct, “Low cut, open back (including halter tops), bare midriff or clothing that allows the midriff to be exposed are not permitted” (p. 29). Also, dresses or skirts must reach mid-thigh including any slits as stated on page 29.
•Students may wear anything from casual to formal attire. However, again, they must follow the guidelines listed above. Students who are not in dress code or who change from dress code may be removed from the dance, and parents may be called for pick up. In addition, students must adhere to the ACS Code of Conduct while at the dance and are not allowed to harass other students, run, horseplay, dance inappropriately, etc. These students will also be removed from the dance. Tickets will not be refunded in these cases.
The doors will open for the dance at 6:00 p.m. (gym lobby entrance of the school). Dismissal from the dance will begin at 8:00 p.m. Students are not allowed to leave the dance until that time. Please adhere to the teachers and staffs’ directions while in car rider line to ensure the safety of all of the children.
