STARKVILLE, MS – The Thompson Middle School Dance Team brought awards from the UDA Summer Camp held at Mississippi State University, earning 2nd place for their home routine in a highly competitive division.
The team, comprised of 15 talented 7th and 8th grade dancers, impressed judges and peers alike throughout the camp. In addition to their 2nd place win, the team earned a Superior Trophy for the A and B routine evaluations that took place at camp, in addition to a daily spirit stick.
Six members of the team were also named All Americans, a significant individual achievement that highlights outstanding skill. To cap off their success, the team received a bid to the National Dance Team Championship, setting the stage for another exciting chapter in their season.
Coach Audra Faust praised the team's dedication and growth saying, “These dancers worked incredibly hard this summer. Their determination and team spirit showed in every performance." Assistant Coach Diana Wagoner added, "I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished.”
The team now turns its focus toward preparing for the upcoming school year and the national stage, with momentum and confidence on their side.
