Why learn in the summer?🌞The learning never stops in ACS! In fact, the summer is a GREAT time for students to sharpen and practice skills using the knowledge they gained during the previous school year. Students that participate in educational activities over the summer will be better prepared for school in August.
We have gathered Reading and Math resources for each grade level and put them all below. These resources include summer reading lists, literacy activities, math practice, and much more. Make sure to use the summer learning opportunities provided below to stay ahead of the curve! |

Family Summer Reading BINGO Challenge - Read for 15-20 minutes every day! 🙂 Incorporate a mix of parent read aloud, reading together (share the book) and the student reading aloud to someone special. Mark off your activities on the BINGO board for entries into a prize drawing. Return your bingo board August 12!

Review High Frequency WordsReview High Frequency Words - Writing reinforces the phoneme (sound) - grapheme (letter) correspondence. Ask your child how to arm tap “red” words! Practice writing these words with high friction experiences (Ex: sidewalk chalk, crayon rubbings over bumpy material, trace dried glitter glue, etc.) See this link for more examples

ACS Gets Caught Reading!- We invite all families and students to submit photos of themselves reading over the summer!
- Submissions will be spotlighted on our social media platforms, and every submission earns an entry into a drawing for free giveaways.
- This is a great way to show your commitment to learning and growing beyond the school day.

AMSTI Math Family Guides |
Big Ideas:- Students can log in through Clever. Using Big Ideas, students can access middle and high school interactive games in the “game library”. Another useful tool in Big Ideas is the “skills trainer”. Students can work on mathematical skills to prepare for the upcoming year!

You can continue learning during the summer months with iReady lessons and learning games! - iReady personalized instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual level and needs, so they can learn at a pace just right for them.
