Montevallo, AL — April 24, 2025 — The Girls Rock STEM Club from Thompson Middle School experienced an unforgettable day of science, discovery, and fun at the University of Montevallo.
Club members engaged in a variety of exciting hands-on lab activities, witnessed jaw-dropping chemical demonstrations, and wrapped up the day by making delicious s'mores with professors Dr. Mathews, Dr. Hayden, and Dr. Tidwell. The event was not only educational but also a vibrant celebration of curiosity and teamwork.
Hosted on the scenic university campus, the visit offered students a glimpse into real-world applications of STEM and encouraged them to envision themselves as future scientists, chemists, and engineers. Each lab experience was crafted to ignite imagination and deepen the students' understanding of science through active participation.
