Thompson Intermediate School recently hosted a Charlotte’s Web-themed celebration to honor and celebrate its special needs students. The event was organized by Special Education Teachers Chelsea Shanks and Katie Browne after their classes finished reading Charlotte’s Web, with help from Thompson High School’s Project Outreach team.
The celebration brought the story to life with activities including face painting, cotton candy making, a petting zoo, and sack races. Students enjoyed a day of hands-on fun and interaction alongside their classmates, teachers, and high school volunteers.
The event highlighted the inclusive environment at Thompson Intermediate School and the strong partnership across Alabaster City Schools. It reflected the district’s commitment to creating engaging experiences that support all learners and strengthen the sense of community among students of all ages.
