staff spotlight

This week's Staff Spotlight goes to 3rd grade teacher, Ms. Green!

1. What inspired you to pursue a career in education?

I have always wanted to be a teacher! My 2nd grade teacher was the absolute best! She made us feel welcome and loved from day one. I wanted to grow up and be just like her!

2. What’s your favorite part of working with students?

My favorite part of working with students is watching those "lightbulb moments" when something finally clicks for a student. It's so rewarding to see them excited about learning and feel proud of themselves for working hard!

3. If you weren’t in education, what do you think you’d be doing?

The weather has always interested me! So if I wasn't teaching, I would probably be doing something in meteorology! I also love all crafts! So I might be doing something involving crafts!

4. Do you have any professional goals you’re working on this year?

Right now I am trying to determine if I want to begin working on my EdS degree or work on National Boards!

5. What’s one thing you love most about our school community?

I love how welcoming, loving, and encouraging our school community is. Everyone truly wants the best for our students and words together to help them succeed!

6. Is there a particular moment in the school year you look forward to each year?

I always look forward to the end of the school year. Students can really see how much they have grown and learned! It's so special to celebrate their hard work and progress!

7. Do you have any hobbies or hidden talents?

One of my hobbies is creating and designing t-shirts! I really enjoy coming up with fun designs and making the shirts. Its fun to me to see people around the school wearing shirts that I have designed and made!

8. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go somewhere with beautiful beaches and clear water so I could relax and explore somewhere new!

10. What’s a food you can never say no to?

I can never say no to good Mexican food or candy!
