This week's Staff Spotlight goes to PE Teacher, Carol Spain!
1. What inspired you to pursue a career in education?
I come from multiple generations of teachers. I fought it at first but then realized that teaching physical education would be perfect- comfy clothes & access to being outside! I LOVE the moment a student is successful at a new skill they can use to stay active the rest of their life!
2. What’s your favorite part of working with students?
Definitely the funny stories and the hugs!
3. If you weren’t in education, what do you think you’d be doing?
Great question!! Got any ideas for when I retire?!?
4. Do you have any professional goals you’re working on this year?
To be AWESOME…
5. What’s one thing you love most about our school community?
I LOVE the MVES family! No matter what-we always come together to support our own through hard times!
6. Is there a particular moment in the school year you look forward to each year?
Field Day! It’s a LOT of work but once it starts, it’s worth all of it because of the pure fun the students have.
7. Do you have any hobbies or hidden talents?
I can carve a mean pumpkin and I’m a pretty good whistler.
8. What’s something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love SHARKS! Just ask me about it!
9. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? It’s a tie between Hawaii (I mean it’s gorgeous- and sharks) and South Africa (duh- SHARKS!! I gotta see the Great White Sharks breach out of the water).
10. What’s a food you can never say no to?
Hmm- Do I look like I could possibly limit that to one?!?
