Meadow View Elementary School has earned an “A” on the Alabama State Report Card, receiving an impressive score of 97. This recognition places Meadow View among the top schools in the state and reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of its students, teachers, and staff.
The second nine weeks of the school year were filled with academic growth, special events, and meaningful learning experiences. Families gathered on campus for popular events such as the Fall Festival, Santa Shop, and the annual Christmas Concert performed by the Meadow View Singers. These events highlighted the strong sense of community at Meadow View and the continued support of an active and dedicated PTO.
Meadow View also proudly recognized two outstanding educators. Ms. Kayla Harris was named Teacher of the Year for her 13 years of service as a kindergarten teacher and her ability to build strong academic foundations through intentional and differentiated instruction. Ms. Zulma Vargas was honored as Support Person of the Year for her work as a kindergarten teacher assistant and her dedication to students and families, including her advocacy for Spanish-speaking families through her bilingual skills.
Across all grade levels, students engaged in rigorous and engaging instruction. From hands-on learning in Pre-K and kindergarten to deeper academic exploration in reading, math, science, and social studies in grades one through three, students showed growth and enthusiasm for learning. Field trips, character education lessons, STEAM projects, music, art, physical education, and technology instruction all contributed to a well-rounded educational experience.
The Meadow View library also had a standout semester, with more than 10,500 books checked out and over $6,500 raised during a successful Book Fair. These funds will be reinvested into the library to support literacy and student engagement.
School leaders continue to emphasize the importance of attendance, family involvement, and strong partnerships between home and school. Families are encouraged to review report cards carefully, support reading and math at home, and stay connected through school communications.
As Meadow View moves into the second semester, the school looks forward to upcoming academic milestones, performances, field trips, and continued collaboration with families and the community.
Meadow View Elementary remains committed to its mission of preparing students for their future and living out its motto: Champions of Our Future.
