Come One, Come All to the Greatest Book Fair of All!

This year’s Meadow View Elementary School Book Fair was a huge success! Our school raised over $6,500 to support our library. Students, teachers, and families all joined in the fun for our carnival-themed fair—complete with bright decorations and plenty of excitement around every shelf. We love a good theme and like to go all out with decorations to add more excitement to our event.

Popular Books and Series

Some of the most popular books this year were Dog Man, Bad Guys, The Puppy Place series, I Survived, and Diary of a Pug. Many students also loved browsing the joke books and animal stories!

Behind the Scenes

Planning for the book fair happens at least a month prior to the actual fair to work out all of the details. It takes about one full school day to set up the fair, thanks to the help of so many amazing helpers, including retired teachers and parent volunteers. We also have volunteers to help the students shop.  Retired teachers, parents, PTO and Future Teachers of America from Thompson High School all pitched in. The high school students helped for 4 days in a row—they were incredible!!!

One of the sweetest surprises this year was how many parents offered to help students who weren’t able to shop. It showed the true spirit of kindness in our school community.

Why We Love the Book Fair

The best part of hosting the Book Fair is seeing students light up when they find a book they can’t wait to read. We love seeing students' facial expressions when they see a family member here to shop with them.  The fair fills our school with excitement and reminds everyone that reading is fun! We even had a surprise mystery reader show up, Cruella de Vil!!

How the Money Helps

The money raised will go right back into the library to buy new books and reading incentives for students. Every purchase enhances our library and encourages a love of reading around our school!
