This week, we are introducing Special Education Teacher, Maggie Luzier!
What’s your role at Meadow View, and what are you most excited about this year?
I will be a Self contained special education teacher k-3 at meadow view. I am excited to see how my students will grow for the beginning of the school year to the end.
Where are you from, and what brought you to our school?
I am from a small town called Boonsboro which is in Maryland. I went to College in Tennessee where I met my Husband who was from Alabama. We wanted to live in an area with a well known school system and Alabaster City Schools were on the top of our list.
How long have you been in education, and what inspired you to become a teacher/staff member?
I have only been in the education system for two years, but I am so thankful I was called to this career. I have always loved working this younger children and seeing them grow in and outside of the classroom.
What do you like to do when you’re not at school?
I love running or playing pickleball when I am not at school.
What’s something your students or coworkers might be surprised to learn about you?
I am left handed in everything I do, but writing.
Do you have a favorite children’s book or quote about learning?

What’s one goal you have for your first year at Meadow View?
I want to be the best teacher I can be for my students. To help them grow and learn every if it’s just one small accomplishment at a time. The small accomplishments sometimes turn into the biggest accomplishment.
