students and board members

ACS — Alabaster City Schools has introduced its new elementary and intermediate student representatives for the 2026–2027 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee. The students were recognized during the October 19 Board of Education meeting and will soon begin quarterly meetings with Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers.

The committee provides students with an opportunity to share their perspectives, offer feedback, and discuss topics that impact their educational experiences across the district. Through these conversations, students help district leadership better understand what is working well and identify opportunities for continued growth.

“Our students bring valuable perspectives to the conversation, and it’s important that we create opportunities for them to share their ideas and experiences,” Dr. Vickers said. “Their input helps us better understand the student experience and make thoughtful decisions as we continue working to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

Representatives from Creek View Elementary School (CVES), Meadow View Elementary School (MVES), and Thompson Intermediate School (TIS) will bring their experiences and ideas to the table throughout the school year.

The new representatives will begin their quarterly meetings soon, continuing the district’s efforts to give students an active role in shaping their educational experiences.
