students and board members

ACS — Alabaster City Schools has introduced its new middle and high school student representatives for the 2026–2027 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Committee. The students were introduced during the October 19 Board of Education meeting and will soon begin quarterly meetings with Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers.

The committee brings together student representatives from across the district to share feedback, discuss issues affecting their school experiences and provide valuable insight to district leadership. Topics may include school culture, academic opportunities, extracurricular involvement and campus initiatives.

“Our students bring valuable perspectives to the conversation, and it’s important that we create opportunities for them to share their ideas and experiences,” Dr. Vickers said. “Their input helps us better understand the student experience and make thoughtful decisions as we continue working to ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.”

Through open discussion and collaboration, the committee gives students a direct opportunity to help inform district conversations and contribute to continued improvement across Alabaster City Schools.
