ACS - Alabaster City Schools will celebrate its annual Homecoming Parade and Community Pep Rally on Wednesday evening, bringing together students, families, and local organizations under this year’s theme, “Powered by Promise.”
Superintendent Wayne Vickers will lead the procession and serve as this year's Grand Marshal.
The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with the homecoming parade routing around Thompson High School. Parade floats will travel down the center of the road, and spectators are advised to use both sides of the street for viewing.
Immediately following the parade at approximately 7 p.m., the crowd will gather inside Warrior Stadium for a community pep rally, which will conclude with a fireworks finale.
School officials advise attendees to arrive early to secure viewing locations and navigate expected traffic delays. Spectator parking is available in designated lots surrounding the main building. Parking on grass areas is strictly prohibited.
Road closures on campus will proceed on the following schedule:
4:00 p.m.: The Kent Dairy Road entrance will close to all traffic. Drivers arriving after 4 p.m. must use the Thompson Road entrance.
5:45 p.m.: The Thompson Road entrance will close to all incoming traffic and remain closed until the parade concludes.
Warm temperatures are forecasted throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to stay hydrated; Thompson High School cheerleaders will sell water bottles for $1 each during both events.
