ACS - ACS officially welcomed its newest cohort of educators during the district’s 2026 New Teacher Orientation (NTO), held July 27–28 at Thompson High School.
Designed to seamlessly integrate incoming staff into the system's culture of excellence, the two-day event combined general assemblies with targeted breakout sessions. Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers kicked off the orientation by welcoming the new hires and introducing members of the ACS Board of Education in attendance.
“Our annual orientation reflects our firm commitment to ensuring every new educator feels valued, supported, and fully equipped from day one,” said Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers. “We are thrilled to welcome such an outstanding group of teachers into our ACS family, and we look forward to the energy, talent, and dedication they will bring to our classrooms and community this year.”
Throughout the event, teachers received comprehensive overviews on essential operational and academic topics, including instructional standards, classroom technology integration, student support services, and exceptional education resources. These targeted briefings ensured every participant gained a clear understanding of district expectations, curriculum frameworks, and available support systems.

Institute: August 10
First Day of School: August 13
