Alabaster City Schools is proud to announce that the Champions Craft Academy (CCA) has been awarded the Alabama Work-Based Learning Seal of Excellence, one of the state’s top honors for career-focused education programs.
This distinction places CCA among one of only five programs statewide selected to receive the state’s Seal of Excellence, and also among just 22 programs recognized as best practice.
“This recognition reflects the strong commitment we have to preparing students for success beyond the classroom,” said Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers. “Champions Craft Academy is creating opportunities for students to gain real-world experience and develop skills that will serve them well in the future.”
The program earned this distinction in the simulated workplace category, providing students with hands-on, real-world learning experiences in a structured school environment. These experiences help students build the skills and professional expectations needed for future success.
According to the Alabama State Department of Education, work-based learning involves sustained engagement with industry or community professionals in real or simulated settings that connect classroom learning to real-world careers. Champions Craft Academy exemplifies this approach by offering meaningful, career-aligned experiences for students.
