The Alabaster City Schools Superintendent’s Advisory Council convened for its April meeting, continuing its important role in ensuring student voice remains at the forefront of district decision-making.

The council, composed of student representatives from across ACS schools, meets regularly with Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers to discuss a wide range of topics impacting the student experience. From school culture and academic opportunities to extracurricular involvement and campus initiatives, the group provides direct insight into what matters most to students.

During the April meeting, council members engaged in thoughtful discussion, sharing feedback and ideas rooted in their day-to-day experiences. These conversations not only highlighted areas of success across the district but also offered constructive perspectives on opportunities for growth.

Dr. Vickers emphasized the value of these discussions, noting the unique perspective students bring to the table.

“I truly appreciate the honesty and insight our students provide during these meetings,” said Dr. Vickers. “Their input helps guide our decisions in meaningful ways and has a greater impact than many may realize. Hearing directly from our students allows us to better serve them and continue moving our district forward.”

The Superintendent’s Advisory Council reflects ACS’s ongoing commitment to student-centered leadership. By creating space for open dialogue, the district empowers students to take an active role in shaping their educational environment.

As the school year continues, the council will meet again to further these conversations, ensuring that student voices remain a vital part of the decision-making process across Alabaster City Schools.
