NBCTs

ALABASTER — Alabaster City Schools is continuing its commitment to instructional excellence by both expanding and celebrating its National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) program.

The district recently hosted a National Board Certified Teacher interest meeting at the Alabaster City Schools Central Office as part of a targeted recruiting effort to grow the number of NBCTs across the system. Current NBCTs were each encouraged to invite a fellow educator they believe would be a strong candidate for certification, resulting in 35 teachers attending the session.

The meeting provided prospective candidates with an opportunity to learn more about the National Board Certification process, hear directly from those who have completed it, and build connections with experienced educators who can offer guidance and support along the way.

In addition to the recruitment effort, the district also took time to recognize its current National Board Certified Teachers with the presentation of a special NBCT plaque. The recognition honors their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to meeting the highest standards in the teaching profession.

National Board Certification is widely regarded as one of the most respected professional credentials in education, requiring educators to demonstrate advanced knowledge, reflective practice, and a strong impact on student learning.

Alabaster City Schools remains committed to supporting teachers throughout the certification process while continuing to celebrate those who have already achieved this distinction.
