ACS - During Career and Technical Education Month, Alabaster City Schools is proud to spotlight the TV and Film Academy at Thompson High School, a program that prepares students for creative and technical careers in the media industry.
The TV and Film Academy provides students with hands-on experience in video production, broadcasting, storytelling, and digital media. Students learn industry-relevant skills, including scriptwriting, filming, editing, sound design, and on-camera presentation, while working with professional-grade equipment and technology.
Through real-world projects and collaborative learning, students develop creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills that prepare them for postsecondary education and careers in television, film, digital media, and related fields. Graduates are equipped to pursue opportunities in broadcasting, video production, journalism, social media content creation, and other media-driven careers.
By combining technical training with creative expression, the TV and Film Academy empowers students to turn ideas into impactful stories and prepares them for future success in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
