ACS - The College Board has named Thompson High School to the prestigious 2025 AP® School Honor Roll, a distinction recognizing schools whose Advanced Placement (AP) programs are delivering results for students while broadening participation.
Thompson High School has landed on the AP® School Honor Roll for several years. Recognition occurs annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
"This is a remarkable accomplishment by our students. Their hard work and commitment to academic excellence are commendable, and we are so proud of them. This award is also a testament to our AP teachers for teaching, supporting, and growing our students at ever-increasing levels. We are proud to be recognized as an AP Honor Roll School," Dr. Wesley Hester, Thompson High School Principal and ACS Assistant Superintendent, said.
For a school to be recognized on the AP School Honor Roll in a given year, it must meet benchmarks in each of the following criteria for its students in the most recent graduating class: College Culture, College Credit, and College Optimization.
“AP gives students an opportunity to engage with college-level work, earn college credit and placement, and build professional career skills they can use no matter what path they choose after high school,” said Trevor Packer, head of the AP program. “Congratulations to this year’s AP School Honor Roll recipients for proving it’s possible to expand participation in these rigorous courses and still drive strong performance.”
