ths math team awards

Thompson High School’s Math Team earned top honors at the Perennial Math Fall Competition on October 16. Under the leadership of Math Team Sponsor Jenny Swinea, the Warriors demonstrated their problem-solving skills and teamwork across all grade levels.

The Sophomore Team took home first place, while the Junior Team earned third place and the Senior Team finished fourth in their respective divisions.

“I am so proud of these students,” said Swinea. “Most of them are brand new to the math team this year, and to see them step into their first competition and perform so well was incredibly exciting.”

Thompson High School Principal Dr. Wesley Hester also praised the team’s performance, saying, “Our students continue to represent Thompson with excellence in every area, and this is another great example of their dedication and talent.”

Thompson High School places a strong emphasis on academic excellence, with mathematics playing a vital role in preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong problem-solving. Each year, THS students participate in local and state math competitions that challenge their critical thinking, collaboration, and analytical skills.
