ACS - Alabaster City Schools (ACS) hosted the John Hattie Visible Learning and Teaching professional development training in mid-June.
The intensive two-day workshop, led by education consultant Tara Noe, was designed for ACS secondary administrators and teacher leaders, focusing on strategies that empower educators to become evaluators of their own teaching. Based on the research of education expert Dr. John Hattie, Visible Learning emphasizes practices that have the greatest impact on student achievement.
ACS Superintendent Dr. Wayne Vickers welcomed the group and thanked them for diving deeper into their teaching strategies.
Chief Academic Officer Dr. Amanda Wilbanks brought this training to ACS. "Visible Learning" allows secondary administrators and teacher leaders to sharpen their instructional practices - continuing the district’s commitment to high-impact instruction and continuous improvement.
