As the 2024-2025 School Year comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank you for your incredible support, partnership, and trust. This has been a truly memorable year—filled with learning, growth, and so many joyful moments. A heartfelt shout-out goes to our amazing teachers and staff, whose dedication and care have helped our students shine in every way. Their passion for education and commitment to each child’s success is the heartbeat of our school.

To our parents and guardians—thank you for being such an essential part of our school community. Your involvement, encouragement, and collaboration have helped make this year a success. As summer begins, we encourage all students to stay engaged by reading regularly, practicing math skills, exploring new interests, and spending quality time with family.

Keep an eye out for summer reading and math resources to support continued learning. Thank you for your continuous support of our school! This link shows you school-wide events for the 2025-2026 School Year; more events will be added as scheduled. Wishing you a safe, fun, and restful summer!

Meadow View Elementary School

As we close another wonderful school year, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support. It has been a joy to partner with you throughout the year, and I hope you and your children have enjoyed being part of our Meadow View family as much as we have enjoyed having you.

Seeing our campus filled with families during Field Day was truly a favorite moment of mine. It reminded me of the strong, supportive community that makes Meadow View so special.

We are fortunate to have many dedicated individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our students thrive. To our incredible parents, staff, and community members — thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students. I would also like to thank our phenomenal PTO. Their efforts this year have been extraordinary, and their contributions are invaluable to our school. If you are not already involved, I encourage you to consider joining next year and becoming part of their many opportunities.

As summer approaches, I hope you find time to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories. While summer is a time for rest, it’s also an opportunity to keep young minds engaged. I encourage you to continue supporting your child’s learning by practicing the valuable skills shared by their teachers. The Toolkit bags provided at our Family Math and Reading Night are excellent resources for keeping those skills sharp. In addition, students will have continued access to Lexia and Exact Path, which are wonderful tools to help prevent summer learning loss. We’ve also provided math activity calendars and a Summer Reading BINGO challenge to make learning fun and interactive.

At the end of June, I will be stepping away from my role as principal of Meadow View Elementary. Beginning July 1, I will join the Alabama State Department of Education as a Regional Literacy Leadership Specialist with the Alabama Reading Initiative. This new opportunity will allow me to focus on supporting literacy instruction for students and teachers across our state — a lifelong passion of mine. While this transition is bittersweet, Meadow View will always hold a special place in my heart. The relationships, memories, and sense of community here are treasures I will carry with me always. Thank you for your unwavering support, partnership, and trust over the years. It has been the greatest honor of my career to serve this incredible school and community.

Thompson Intermediate School

As we close out another incredible year at Thompson Intermediate, I am overwhelmed with both pride and gratitude. Over the past four years, I’ve had the honor of serving a school community deeply committed to growth, excellence, and heart—and this year has been a shining reflection of that mission.

Our students made remarkable academic gains, especially in Aimsweb and Edmentum assessments, showing what’s possible when hard work and high expectations meet. This success is a direct result of our teachers’ unwavering dedication, along with the steadfast support of Dr. Vickers, the Alabaster City School Board, district coordinators, chiefs, instructional coaches, and district staff. Their investment made possible the addition of a certified math interventionist and continued access to the resources our teachers need to thrive.

Our PTO board and members, along with generous school sponsors, went above and beyond this year—treating our staff, funding school projects, and creating a culture of appreciation that truly lifted spirits and strengthened our community.

This year also brought a record-breaking turnout at STEM Night through our partnership with PTLA, numerous chess victories, robotics competition success, and educators who modeled lifelong learning through LETRS training, NBCT certification, and the pursuit of advanced degrees.

Reflecting on this year, I see more than achievements—I see a collective determination to be excellent in every space we occupy. We’ve built something special at Thompson Intermediate, and it is an honor within my career to serve this school and community.

Thompson Middle School

We have had another amazing year at Thompson Middle School. I would like to thank the ACS Central Office and the ACS Board of Education for all of the support they provide to TMS. I would also like to thank our students, parents, teachers, and staff. The teamwork in our school system and community is unmatched. I’m so grateful to work within a community that is so supportive of our students and their educational journey! Also, our PTO did an outstanding job of assisting our students and teachers throughout the school year!

TMS had several accomplishments throughout the 2024-2025 School Year. Our academic growth continued to increase based on the most recent i-Ready data. Our students participated in Rewards Day at the end of each nine weeks in an effort to recognize their hard work. The band, orchestra, theater, and choir students continued to receive superior ratings and staged outstanding performances! The TMS Dance Team won a National Championship, TMS Majorettes won a state championship, and the TMS Wrestling Team earned a Metro Championship!

While we prepare for the transition to the next school year, it is always an exciting time as we get to evaluate our plans and continue to make improvements each year with the goal of being better next year than the year before. Please continue to check the TMS website and social media accounts for all updates and summer information. In addition, we will continue to email our TMS parents with specific details on registration. Students should continue to read this summer. The ACS summer reading recommendation list is posted on the TMS website. Have a great summer!
