ACS students, educators honored at Shelby Chamber Awards Luncheon

PELHAM - Alabaster City Schools (ACS) students and educators were honored and awarded on April 26, 2023, at The Shelby Chamber 2022-2023 Student and Educator of the Year Awards Luncheon.
Senior Silas Clayton of Thompson High School won the 2023 Career Ready Student of the Year for all of Shelby County. Jasmine Jones, also a senior at Thompson High School, was named a 2023 College Ready Student of the Year Nominee for Shelby County.
Hannah Sizemore, theatre teacher at Thompson High School, won the 2022-2023 High School Educator of the Year for Shelby County. Other ACS educators recognized included Marlee Guy (Teacher of the Year for Creek View Elementary School); Kimberly Gray (Teacher of the Year for Meadow View Elementary School); Alyssa Turner (Teacher of the Year for Thompson Intermediate School); and Terri Wright (Teacher of the Year for Thompson Middle School). Board of Education members Mr. Adam Moseley (President), Mr. Derek Henderson (Vice-President); and Mrs. Jamia Alexander James (Board Member) joined Superintendent of Education Dr. Wayne Vickers and all ACS principals in celebrating these outstanding students and educators.
