November 18, 2022

(ACS) - Alabaster City Schools (ACS) has once again earned an "A" on the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) Report Card.
Newly-released grades were calculated on data from the 2021-2022 School Year (the latest available). These data show a 90 (A) score for Alabaster City Schools. Additionally, all of our schools scored either an "A" or a "B":
- Creek View Elementary: 92 A
- Meadow View Elementary: 95 A
- Thompson Intermediate: 88 B
- Thompson Middle: 81 B
- Thompson High: 82 B
ALSDE employs a variety of metrics to arrive at letter grades for all of Alabama's 139 school systems. In addition to academic achievement and growth, the methodology also considers factors such as college and career readiness and chronic absenteeism.
Federal accountability takes into account the same factors but uses slightly different metrics.
