• Dr. Jeff Atkins is the Chief Operations Officer for Alabaster City Schools. He oversees all school buildings, maintenance, capital outlay, custodial, and transportation services.

    Dr. Atkins has over 23 years experience in Alabaster as an educator. He served as a history teacher and coach at Thompson High School for six years. He then served six years at Thompson High School as an Assistant Principal. Dr. Atkins moved to Thompson Middle School for two years as principal, before working the last nine years as a district administrator for Alabaster City Schools.

    He earned his Bachelor of Science from Jacksonville State University. He holds a Master's and an Ed.S in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo. In 2013, Dr. Atkins earned his Doctorate at Samford University in Educational Leadership. He also holds certification as a capital planner and facilities assessor.

    Dr. Atkins is married to April Atkins, a 3rd-grade teacher at Creek View Elementary. They have two sons, Gunner Christian (10th grader at THS) and Ryder Jackson Atkins (3rd at CVES).
