Hello! 

My name is Hunter Curtis. I grew up in rural Corner, AL, which is the proud home to a high school, two gas stations, and one Dollar General. Moving out of my hometown, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham pursuing a Bachelor's in Biology and a minor in STEM Education with UABTeach. At UAB, I marched with the Marching Blazers, served with UAB Army ROTC, and enrolled with Phi Sigma Biological Sciences Honor Society.

I served my first three years of teaching in Shelby County before moving to teach science at Thompson High School,  founding and coaching eSports teams whilst teaching. In my time with Shelby County, I picked up my Master's in Secondary Education at UAB with a concentration in Biology. Teaching is such a passion for me. It is a career like no other where I can communicate a subject of life that I love whilst watching and helping students develop into the professionals they were meant to be.

Aside from teaching, I have served with the Alabama Army National Guard for 7 years. I'm a huge video game nerd, and that is why I love eSports so much! I met my wife and fellow teacher, Lauren, in my undergraduate. We have no kids yet, but we are very proud parents of two dogs, one cat, and a python.
