My name is Janet Jones. I was raised in Prattville, Alabama, and moved to Alabaster in 2006. My son
and daughter are both graduates of Thompson High School. My free time is filled with family activities
with my husband, children and grandchildren. We enjoy traveling together and spending time outside
playing.

I received my BA in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Child Development from
Jacksonville State University. I received my MEd in Counseling from the University of Montevallo. This is
my first year as a counselor in the ACS system.

One of the things I love most about my job as a counselor is that each day is different as various
situations arise. My responsibilities include teaching large group guidance lessons, leading small groups,
