Mrs. Amber Yates is a choral director at TMS. This will be her 2nd year at Thompson Middle School, and her 6th year of teaching. Mrs Yates absolutely loves her job and is so excited to have the opportunity to teach a new group of amazing students this year! Mrs. Yates has the honor of leading Warrior Women, 6th Grade Singers, Vocal Point, and 6th Harmony.

Mrs. Yates graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a concentration in Choral Education and a Mathematics minor. She is passionate about vocal pedagogy and anatomy, and the changing voice. 

Mrs. Yates's family includes her husband Daniel, her daughter Emmalyn (4), her son James (2), cat Bailey, and dog Lucy. Her family is very involved in their church and love to sing! Her husband is a music minister, so they are always doing something musical at home. In her free time, Mrs. Yates loves to paint and do anything crafty.
