Charles F. Henry is entering his thirteenth year of teaching high school choir and his first at Thompson High School. Before coming to Thompson, Mr. Henry spent the last two years earning the Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Georgia. In the classroom, Mr. Henry places a strong emphasis on the joy of singing together, the importance of music literacy, and the ability of music-making to make the world a better place. Choirs under Mr. Henry's direction have received consistent superior ratings at State Choral Assessments, have been invited twice to perform for the Alabama Music Educators Conference, and have performed in Carnegie Hall. Outside of the classroom, Mr. Henry enjoys yoga, watching football on Saturdays, going to Barons games, and trying all the fantastic restaurants the Birmingham area has to offer. Mr. Henry is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Iron City Singers, a community-based choir, and is a choir member at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook, AL.
