Brooke Dennis

I was born and raised in Alabama, and I spent the majority of my childhood in Shelby County. I graduated from Pelham High School and attended college at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, minoring in English and Theater.

I spent two years working as a reporter and production assistant in Los Angeles. After returning to Alabama in 2005, I decided to pursue a career in education. In 2009, I completed my grad school work with a Masters in Education, focusing on English Language Arts.

I love teaching TV & Film, and I am looking forward to teaching another full schedule of Television classes this year.

This will be my 14th year at Thompson High School. During my time, the school’s newscast THS TV has raked in numerous awards, including top newscast in the state and Broadcast Journalist of the Year for the past seven years. We cannot wait to win a few more.

Last year, we had four students from THS TV win first place in Broadcast News Production at the SkillsUSA state competition. This earned them the chance to compete at the SkillsUSA Championships in Louisville, where they placed 5th in the country!

Check out the THS TV page for a list of our awards and visit our online digital network to watch archived episodes and on demand events.

I look forward to an exciting 2020-2021 school year!
