Mrs. Lisa Williams
My name is Lisa Williams, and I was born and raised just outside of Detroit, Michigan. I went to the University of Michigan and upon graduation, I moved out West and began my teaching career. There, I met and married my husband, Mark, and his first job brought us to Alabama. We thought that we would only be living here for a couple of years. However, 27 years later, here we are! We love Alabama, and we have loved raising our children here! We have four wonderful children; two have graduated from college (Alabama and Auburn) and two are currently rooming together at the University of Alabama. Although I think that all of my children are wonderful (just like any other mother does), my children are all very different. I believe that raising these very unique personalities has helped to make me a much stronger teacher. I celebrate all of the different strengths that each child brings into my classroom! In my free time I love to exercise, go to the theater, and travel! I also love to spend time with me family, my dog, and my books!
This is my 7th year of teaching. I taught one year of first grade in Georgia and one year of 5th grade at Oak Mountain Intermediate School. I also taught four years of third grade (two years in Utah and two years at Vestavia Hills-West). I stayed home with my children for many years, but I recently returned to teaching. Last year was my first year at Meadow View, and I taught second grade. I absolutely adored my class, but I decided to move up to third grade this year. Most of my experience has been in teaching the middle grades, and I am quite passionate about children's literature, especially the type that students begin reading in the third grade! I cannot wait to introduce my class to all of my favorite books and authors this year! Meadow View Elementary is a very special place, and I feel very blessed to be here. We are going to have a great year!
